The language is spoken by approximately 81 million native speakers and 13 million secondary speakers.
Telugu belongs to the South-Central Dravidian language group. This group also includes Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam. Among these languages, Telugu is closely related to Kannada. It is written from Left to Right and has 52 letters in which there are 16 Vowels and 36 Consonants.
